The Galiwin'ku Council is the host organisation for the Centrelink Agency at Galiwin'ku. The Centrelink Office is located in the Rural Transaction Centre (RTC) facilities at the Council Offices.
The role of the host organisation is to:
- engage suitable personnel to deliver the contracted services;
- be responsible for specified personnel and provide guidance and support as appropriate;
- provide appropriate and secure accommodation;
- ensure specified personnel is aware of core business functions as outlined in contract;
- ensure the specified personnel has an understanding of, and the capability to, deliver services in a culturally appropriate manner;
- provide the specified personnel with stationery etc;
- comply with accountability, legislative and operational requirements as specified in the contract;
- ensure attendance of the specified personnel is in line with contracted hours and report any extended leave to the Customer Service Centre; and
- provide specified personnel with support especially in incidences of Customer Aggression.
CDEP, through its Community Assistance Centres program provides 2 workers to assist with the running of an efficient and effective Centrelink Agency providing assistance to Centrelink clients and to liaise with Centrelink regional offices and assist visiting Centrelink regional staff.
